How health coaching can cut through the menopause confusion

Why would you see a menopause coach?

Imagine having a conversation with someone who gives you their undivided attention for an hour.

Imagine that person has unconditional positive regard for you, that she sees the best in you, whatever you say.

Imagine that person also has 12 years of experience and education regarding menopause, women’s health, and wellbeing.

Imagine how that first session could feel.

It’s often emotional. Just being listened to.

Coaching also gives you:

Clarity and understanding amidst midlife confusion

A coach can help you cut through the overwhelm of decision making, responsibility, and self doubt, and help you take consistent, inspired action for your wellbeing, from a place of understanding and self awareness rather than hoping for a magic quick fix.

Perimenopause and midlife challenges can make us doubt ourselves and find decision making harder. Coaching can help you create the frameworks of boundaries, values, and self knowledge to make this easier.

With menopause awareness has come monetisation. The awareness piece is essential - it’s such a contrast to when I started learning about it 12 years ago….but the cherry picking of data and information can mean you can see contradictions in every social media post!

Coaching helps you navigate the slick marketing messaging because you have the frameworks to support you.

I had a client who was taking so many supplements she had been recommended but she had no idea whether they were doing her any good. We went back to basics on her symptoms, her lifestyle, her day to day nutrition choices, and she created a new way of exploring what was the right choice to make for her.

Confidence that you’re on the right track with the right support

Confidence that the action you’re taking (perhaps it’s about lessening your mental load, adding in some movement or nutrition habits, or simply resting more), is actually tailored to your needs, right now, rather than an instagram influencer’s discount code.

Confidence is often an issue that comes up with my clients, perhaps brain fog, exhaustion, poor sleep, or lack of get-up-and-go. AND it can be because of the stories they are telling themselves about midlife women in the workplace, or because they are taking on more and more responsibility for the people without recognition or support.

Coaching can help you work out how to support your focus, create the bandwidth to function better at work, and let go of what’s holding you back or pulling you down too.

One of my clients spent our time together working on her emotional re-calibration - she didn’t want to be on the edge of losing her temper, or her cools all the time - and she wanted the confidence and bandwidth to make the decision to leave her employed role and go fully self-employed. All of which she succeeding in creating. One small step at a time.

Balance, in work, life, and emotional wellbeing

What balance looks and feels like for you is different to mine. And as your coach I can help you find yours.

In fact, what we usually find is that we are working towards creating more space to play with the ups and downs of life.

Balance is often momentary in midlife, but developing the resilience to survive the ups and downs is actually essential. Being able to experience and enjoy the highs, while maintaining the resilience to deal with tricky times is essential.

I had a client who’s a founder of a successful business, she wanted to make sure she could keep the company making progress without sacrificing her health and her time. Over our work together she found a new way of working, promoted some of her colleagues to take on her work, moved house to somewhere she could create the lifestyle she wanted, AND created new habits around food, movement, rest, and more.

Vitality

Health isn’t necessarily about how you look but how you feel on the inside, your ability to access joy, to find the energy you need because you want to, not because you have to.

My clients often have deep revelations about where their energy and vitality actually comes from and what depletes it. Boundaries are for life, and they don’t cost anything. Unlike that supplement* promising you magic beans if you sign up for life.

Why would you choose to work with me?

I’m a menopause educated integrative women’s health coach. The integrative part of my training is what brings the magic - supporting you to explore all aspects of your current life and how it impacts your health, life and menopause experience.

I don’t give advice on HRT, or prescribe exercises, diet plans, or supplements. But I’ll give you the space to work out what you really need, how to fit it in, hold you gently accountable and bear witness to the changes you want to make in your life.

I’ve been doing this for nearly a decade. It’s a privilege and a pleasure.

How do you start?

Usually it’s best to book a call with me (link here) for a gentle chat about coaching, your current frustrations and your high level goal.

Then you can choose to work with me intensively - weekly for 4 months, or lighter touch, monthly for 6 months.

*I’m not anti supplement, I take several, and I often support my clients in exploring supportive supplements too but I am annoyed at the magic promises promised by social media ads…I’ve worked with clients spending £100s a month and not really understanding why.
